Pretending, Everybody’s Favorite PassTime – Week 7

You’ve made it all the way to the seventh lesson of my creative writing lessons series. Congratulations you’re almost at the end. We’ve had a lot of fun so far with our exercises and this week is going to be even more fun and creative.

This will you will pretend to be somebody else.

When you write this week, you will write from somebody else’s perspective. This can be anybody. This could be somebody you have known your entire life, or it could be a fictional person that you have created. Get in their shoes and see things as they would. React to things like they would.

Pick a setting, situation, or encounter and then write the things that see, feel, hear, and think in that particular scenario. Really get into their brains, and try to get as descriptive as you can. This could end up being just a paragraph, or several pages. Write until you have told their story.

That’s the end of the seventh lesson. Have fun putting yourself in somebody else’s shoes. Come back next week for the eighth lesson.
